How to make your own Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks

It's another busy day at Simply Creative by Lily C

We all have those days when you just feel stressed, overwhelmed and like you can't do anything right!  So how do you re-balance your mind and body?

I prefer listening to calming music while burning something aromatic like Simply Creative by Lily C's Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks!

Both Lavender and Bay Leaves are known to produce a stimulating, yet calming psychedelic effect. You will want to light the bundle in a fire safe container such as a copper incense pot with a vented lid. Dried Bay leaves catch fire quickly and burn hot so please be careful.  Lavender and Bay Smudge Sticks are available for purchase at www.scbylc.net. Search for Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks!

Or here's how you can make your own :)

Simply Creative by Lily C's Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks

What You'll Need:

  • 2 ounces of organically grown dried Lavender stalks (with blossoms is most aromatic)
  • 3 dried Bay Leaves
  • About 8" Long Natural Jute String
  • Determination :)
How You DIY:

  1. Split up the lavender stalks evenly
  2. Cross the stalks so there are blossoms on each length
  3. Take the string and tie a tight knot around the end of the lavender length
  4. Wrap the string down the length of the lavender stalk
  5. Place a bay leaf atop the lavender stalk and wrap the string around it (The leaf may crack but secure the leaf and any cracked areas with the next loop of string.)
  6. Layer the other two leafs down the length of the previous leaf and secure with the string.
  7. Finish wrapping the lavender stalk and tie a knot in the string at the end

There you have it - one beautiful, natural and calming Lavender Bay Smudge Stick!
The next time you're feeling stressed or blah just place it into a fire safe container and light one end on fire. It will burn itself out leaving you a fragrant and calming smoke to enjoy!

Blessings!
