Celebrate Sweetest Day with a Detoxing Bath!

What the heck is Sweetest Day?

Sweetest Day is defined as "holiday that is celebrated in the Midwestern United States, and parts of the Northeastern United States, on the third Saturday in October."

So Basically it's a mini Valentine's Day to ensure you aren't taking your partner for granted.

This year Sweetest Day is Saturday, October 21st!

Sure some will argue that BOTH holidays were created to exploit the American wallet, but what's wrong with celebrating your feelings for someone special? It is also great for those busy people who might need a gentle reminder to show their feelings! Also, it could ease the sometimes hellish process of asking your crush out :)

Simply Creative by Lily C created some special Himalayan Bath Salt Vials for just such an occasion!

Red Flannel Festival 2017

It's only 3 days till the main event, Red Flannel Festival, hits the small farming community of Cedar Springs, Michigan.

I personally have always liked going to the day's events such as the Tractor Show and Pull, which my grandpa and his friends competed annually, the Art and Craft Show, the Car Show and ultimately ending the day with the Main Street Parade then browsing the small shops on Main Street before heading home.

Last year was my first year as a business owner on Main Street. It was the best day sales wise but I really also just loved having so many people come in and ask about the city's history and mingle with others about the day!

Simply Creative by Lily C is located at 86 North Main Street.

Need a landmark?

You'll find us right across the street from the Beer Tent and the Brewery! :)

This year I hope will be even better than last and I can honestly say I am MUCH more prepared for the day!

I hope that maybe a few of my readers will come in and see me this weekend,

Blessings either way,

Sarah

Live Your Life with Passion

Some say Make Your Passion Your Paycheck which is a fine motto to have I suppose if you're only living for your paycheck.

I prefer to say, Live Your Life with Passion.

Fiery, burning, messy, emotional passion!

I started Simply Creative by Lily C because I was passionate about living as chemical free as I could as also because my newly adopted puppy, Lily, was allergic to all the pet products available at the time.

Friends and family started asking me to start making their pets the same products and three years later I have a retail shop in Cedar Springs, MI and a successful eCommerce site, simplycreativebylilyc.com!

Simply Creative by Lily C Flagship Store | Cedar Springs, MI

We are working to grow every year and with growth comes new products lines and new challenges. Living with Passion is what keeps me going through each of the ups and downs of small business ownership!

Have a blessed day and do something for yourself. Something that YOUR Passionate about!

How to Make Your Own Natural Hair Regrowth Shampoo!

There is an alarming trend I've been noticing for the past few years, a lot of older women are starting to loose their hair!

This is something I assumed only happened to men, right? But it happened to my own grandmother and started when she was in her 60's. Sure first you just notice your hair begins to thin out at about the age of 30, which they say is natural and due to hormones, but then you turn 34 and you're pulling out more and more strands everyday.  Concern is starting to settle in....okay lets be blunt about this,

WARNING ALARMS are ringing in my ears!

If I'm a bit conceded over anything appearance wise, its definitely my long, soft, naturally honey colored hair - sue me, I know pride is the first to fall but its honest and this blog is about being honest and open!

Now I've been noticing my own mother's scalp is visible! I can tell she tries not to think about it but she's also stopped getting her hair professionally styled or colored so it probably bothers her. I HAVE TO HELP!

I told her,

Mom, I'm making you a natural hair regrowth shampoo and you have to use it every other day!

Pics will come soon... she's very shy and doesn't want her pics used but has agreed since she believes in the shampoo and how it can help others in her situation.

If you want to buy the shampoo from me directly, please find it on the Simply Creative by Lily C website at www.scbylc.net

Lavender, Rosemary, Sage herbs

Or here is the free recipe if you want to make it yourself!

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Castille Soap Lavender Scented
1/2 Cup Spring Water
1/3 Cup Veggie Glycerine
1 tsp Vitamin E
1 tsp Almond Oil
1 tsp Jojoba Oil
10 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
3 drops of Tea Tree Oil
1 tsp Powdered Turmeric

Directions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in bottle of choice
  2. Shake until everything is well mixed!
  3. Wash hair into a rich lather and let the shampoo sit on your hair, especially the roots, for at least 3 minutes.
  4. Rinse out completely
  5. Use Shampoo every time you wash your hair.

Regrowth won't be noticeable for a while. This is natural, not magick!  I wish it was... I'd bottle it and give it away for FREE!

I hope this recipe helps!

Blessings,

How to make your own Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks

It's another busy day at Simply Creative by Lily C

We all have those days when you just feel stressed, overwhelmed and like you can't do anything right!  So how do you re-balance your mind and body?

I prefer listening to calming music while burning something aromatic like Simply Creative by Lily C's Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks!

Both Lavender and Bay Leaves are known to produce a stimulating, yet calming psychedelic effect. You will want to light the bundle in a fire safe container such as a copper incense pot with a vented lid. Dried Bay leaves catch fire quickly and burn hot so please be careful.  Lavender and Bay Smudge Sticks are available for purchase at www.scbylc.net. Search for Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks!

Or here's how you can make your own :)

Simply Creative by Lily C's Lavender Bay Smudge Sticks

What You'll Need:

  • 2 ounces of organically grown dried Lavender stalks (with blossoms is most aromatic)
  • 3 dried Bay Leaves
  • About 8" Long Natural Jute String
  • Determination :)
How You DIY:

  1. Split up the lavender stalks evenly
  2. Cross the stalks so there are blossoms on each length
  3. Take the string and tie a tight knot around the end of the lavender length
  4. Wrap the string down the length of the lavender stalk
  5. Place a bay leaf atop the lavender stalk and wrap the string around it (The leaf may crack but secure the leaf and any cracked areas with the next loop of string.)
  6. Layer the other two leafs down the length of the previous leaf and secure with the string.
  7. Finish wrapping the lavender stalk and tie a knot in the string at the end

There you have it - one beautiful, natural and calming Lavender Bay Smudge Stick!
The next time you're feeling stressed or blah just place it into a fire safe container and light one end on fire. It will burn itself out leaving you a fragrant and calming smoke to enjoy!

Blessings!
